After seeing the new 3er, there is no way I'm getting that.

The only two widespread problems that I am familiar with were related to the control arm bushings on the 2009 A4 and the plastic coolant pump housing on some 2010 S4s. As far as I know, both of these problems have been remedied on newer models and there are no currently known widespread problems that would rise to the level of something like the HPFP on the BMW 3.0L turbocharged I6. It has only been a little over a year, but my 2011 has been flawless so far.

What do you drive now?

I have been monitoring this group for sometime now and the only problem is the steering vibration problem as mentioned in the first response to your post. If I had to buy now, I would probably get the A4, but even with the A4 there are some minor aesthetic things I don't like. Like, for example, the way they did the speedometer...more than 1/2 of it is useless. Also, there are "too many buttons" around the console area. These are things I could probably live with.

In general, I think we need to get used to getting rid of cars before they get out of warranty/extended warranty because of the amount of electronics in them.

Several owners have had issues with the intake manifold also.

yes, that's quite the nose on the car, not a huge fan of front end in profile. Looks like they're borrowing the Audi pop up nav screen as well.
