I found this kit through a post on that other Audi forum. It fully supports carplay through the AMI/Aux interface of my 2010 B8. Works both wired and wirelessly. It also supports wired Android but have not tried it. It runs are an external media player for sound. The video gets input through a modified interface cable to the OEM screen. There is a touch screen overlay you install to enable touch controls. It also support the steering wheel controls. I also bought a backup camera but have not yet installed it. The downside is that it is ~$700 with the backup camera.

After using it a few days now it has worked very well and appears like an OEM system.
