I have noticed that I get worse mileage in the cold (which is the opposite of my past cars, where I got worse in the summer with the A/C working hard). I lose about .5-1 MPG (combined average) over the same routes, but it could be related to gas formulation changes in my state in the winter months.

i've also seen a pretty nice increase after about 5000 miles. now on a long highway trip in summer 31-32. winter highway 28-30. worst i see now is about 23-24 city/highway mixed. these are all manually calculated as I am sadly stuck without a DIS (though my dealer actually tried unsuccessfully to enable it thorugh vag)

I was getting 31mpg before mods. After the apr stage 1 tune, dual remus exhaust, and apr/carbonio air box I get 33. Most of my commute is highway miles though, but still the MPG I get is impressive to me. My other commuter was a toyota corolla and I struggled to get 29mpg with that.

The mpg in my sig is an avg over the last 15 months.

Admittedly most is town work and the wife gets about 40% worst mpg than I do.

"what can you do?" rings very true.

This car seems to really struggled with consumption on cold/short journeys. Once warmed up and on a trip it seems fine but it's terrible in town. We're not far off what my B6 S4 (with 390+bhp) was getting.

I luck out with mostly highway miles for my commute. That said I'm thrilled with averaging 31.5 mpg according to Road Trip LE over the life of the car (last 15k). I'm rarely go above 85 and typically am going 65-75. Winter has actually been better possibly because I moved from 18's to 17's for my snow tires.

I have about 5000 miles on our 2011 A4 6MT. The cumulative mpg is about 33.

It is not unusual for the car to get 35-37mpg with highway driving. MPG does drop in the winter, particularly in snowy weather. I do not do too muchy 'city' driving, but when I do, the A4 mpg seems to be in the 21-24 range.

That's unbelievable! Can you post pictures of the average mpg and the mileage of trip computer 2?

My 2011 A4 6MT has averaged about 23.7mpg for its 1500 miles. I once got 32mpg on a highway-to-highway trip. My commute is mixed and I average about 25-28mpg. I never reset trip computer 2. It's initial mpg was about 19 for some reason and it has been creeping up. I don't see much of a correlation between the two trip computers. I don't recall having a single trip below 23mpg and yet trip computer 2 has not yet reached the daily averages I see with trip computer 1.
I do push it to 5k RPM systematically for the fun of it and I don't expect to get 35-37mpg ever. I find it hard to believe that the manufacturer could publish numbers that are 20% below yours though.
At least I'm glad mine doesn't seem to burn oil. The level is still at max or maybe my oil sensor is broken.

On the mention of Oil Level is there an oil dipstick or can you only check it through the MMI. I have looked (not too hard) for a dipstick but haven't been able to locate one.

You can add one. It's blocked off from the factory but there is a neck for "tech use." I don't have the part unmber handy but it's on pretty much every Audi forum.

Thanks I'll have to ask the dealer to get me one. I just don't fully trust the MMI to tell me how much oil I have.
