Hey Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've been on the forum - hope you all have been well.

My 2000 1.8T is on the verge of turning 10 years old, and I'm starting to think about a new A4. I think the B8 platform is gorgeous, and I kicked the tires on one in the showroom the other day. Really nice looking car - it's the first platform since B5 that I have liked the looks of.

I have a couple questions (since searches turned up empty):

1) The auto dimming side-view mirrors are (IMHO) one of the best convenience features on Audi vehicles. It was a cheap option in 2000, and I have to say that I am a little pissed off that they make you buy the Prestige trim line just to get them. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket auto-dimming rear and side-view mirror kit available? Has anyone gotten them without shelling out for Prestige?

2) I know it's early, but I was hoping to find a list of B8 platform issues. I'd hate to get shackled with the problems that the 2001 folks had. Has anyone started compiling a list of common B8 issues?
