Default Electric Window Switch Removal

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered however, I cant seem to locate, it may be because I am new to this forum. Can anyone tell me how to remove the electric window switches in my A4(B8) as I have bought an upgraded set.

Thank you in advance for any help

David

The most helpful info I found when doing mine was this post. If you don't have a very small, thin blade to slip up to help "unhook" the switch catches from the holes in the door, it can be a PITA. I used a small jeweler's screwdriver, and it wasn't the best tool, but I eventually got it out. I'm not sure what the "small blade" tool he used to get them out is, it looks almost like a miniature putty knife. Getting the trim off to get access to the switches is easy, getting the switches out is difficult without a good tool.

The one and only source for stuff like this is DavidB8's website. He did a write up of this, referenced in the post linked by BScline. You can find it here:

Yes, DavidB8's site is a good source, but this link is better for removal of the window switch assembly:

??? I don't see how that helps at all. (nor do I see why you are suggesting I'm trying to BS, what is the point of your post?)

Or that one. As I said, getting the trim off to get TO the switches was easy. David's site covers getting the door panels off very well (though I didn't take the door panels off, only the trim), but for ME, the most difficult thing was getting the switches out of their "pockets" without breaking anything.
