Default Getting intake manifold replaced (2nd one)...

I just brought my wifes 09' A4 2.0T in for service as her engine light was on. For the second time now she needs a new intake manifold. The car has 28,000 miles on it. The first one was replaced a couple months after she bought it. Any reason why this is happening.

It will continue happening until Audi redesigns the cheap plastic manifold. It's a common problem for these to fail, but pretty surprising that you've already had 2 fail this quick.

Ya seriously c'mon Audi, plastic for this piece?

Attention aftermarket tuners: You will get my money in exchange for an upgraded manifold when my warranty runs out, should you choose to produce one.

Can you provide any more details? How exactly are these parts failing? Are they developing hairline cracks that let in unmetered air? Or...?

I'm not sure at this point. Something about it not zeroing out and causing the code to come up. Apparently the part number has changed so Audi is doing something different with there manifolds.

This is good news. Would you happen to know what the new part # is by any chance? I haven't fired up ETKA in a long time.
