BMW already sells on mpg, have you seen those ads where they boast about having the most fuel efficient luxury line?
There's nothing wrong with a 4-cyl as long as it's smooth. And coming from an Acura TSX I can tell you Audi's 2.0T is NOT smooth, I would think it's some kind of diesel if I didn't know what car I'm sitting in.

I guess this is showing my age. It was just a few years ago when the two 3-series offerings typically consisted of a 4-banger and I-6. It is only in the last few years that the two choices have been 6-cylinder engines.
