Purchasing a 2009 A4
Hello all,
I am currently looking at Purchasing a 2009 A4 wit 60,000 miles, for $9,500. Good idea? Any problems I should look for at this stage? Are they pretty reliable? Could I get to 150,000 miles without major repairs, but just regular maintenance? The guy who I am looking at purchasing it from is an Audi mechanic, and says it in good shape. Changed the oil, brakes, timing chain and tensioner, and put on new tires. Any feed back would be appreciated.

The price is good. But mechanic or not, get a Car Fax report on the car. Be sure that it had no accidents and that it was never serviced at "Joe's Recycled Oil Change Joint",
well you know what I mean.
I bought my 2009 A4 with 65,000 miles and so far a year later - so good.

Jaa, is this a 4 cylinder? Do you know about the oil consumption issues surrounding that engine?

Yes, it is the 4 cylinder. I added a "piggy back" chip which gets it to 250 hp.
And I do add small amounts of oil periodically. By small I mean a small paper drinking cup amount. I would say that in total I have added 1 quart in the past 5,000 miles.
I do not consider this to be an oil consumption problem; both our cars are 8 years old.
I know that I drink more than I did 8 years ago. :-)

Yes I am aware of the Oil Consumption issue with these engines. I have looked through the Carfax report, and can't find it mentioned anywhere in the report for this car. So I am assuming that this one was not affected.

2009 was the first year for the Ea888 engine. Your experiences with your engine aren't much real help in this B8 forum. We really enjoyed our B7 Cab BTW.
