Those of you with the 2.0T Quattro....
I know it will not have the power of my RS but this is for my wife.
I have not driven it yet but would like some insight on the quickness of this engine compared to the 3.2
thank you

2nd. my wife loves it. power delivery is different from an atmospheric car, almost diesel-like
but it works. i'm curious to see (or more specifcally, experience) if GIAC/APR tuning can make the car as fun to play with @ the top end of the tach as it is near the low end.

Umm..
I'll throw out that this is a good husbands car...as if to be "a man's car" you need an RS4??? You might better ask this question on the ***** enlargement forum linked somewhere from RS4 section.

On my test drives the 2.0 felt quicker than the 3.2 actually. 0-60 times are about the same. The 2.0 felt like it had more "pop" from a dead stop. Initial reports from prototype ECU tuning shows that 2.0 will have significant gains.
In other words, get the 2.0.

Both engines have much to recommend. . .
. . .the V6 sounds great and it is very smooth.
. . .the i4 sounds very good at full throttle and it is the smoothest 4 cyc engine I have ever driven (or heard.)
. . .the V6 comes with the nice twin exhaust pipes.
. . .the i4 needs a $100 set of Audi accessory tips.
. . .the V6 is slightly thirstier.
. . .the torque of the i4 is 258 ft pounds at below 2,000 RPM's.
. . .the torque of the V6 is 243 ft pounds at above 3,000 RPM's, BUT it goes further into the rev range whereas the i4's torque falls off above 4,200 RPM's.
. . .the 0-60 times are often quoted as within .1 to .2 seconds of each other and most reviews publish the 2.0T as the quicker of the two for this particular measurement.
. . .the V6 adds over $3,000 to the base price of a particular model.
. . .the V6 feels stronger above 85-90mph BUT there is no strain in the i4 at triple digit speeds; it just seems at 100mph+ that the V6 is a tiny bit more, er, "comfortable."
. . .the V6 weighs a tad more and makes the A4 feel a tiny bit less "nimble."
. . .the V6 gives you great optics and sounds -- for $1,000 that would be my choice.
. . .the i4 gives you performance and a bit more of that "snake in a rat hole feel" due to the lighter weight and more immediately accessable (and stronger) torque.
. . .the V6's temperment with the i4's performance would be Goldilocks.
Alas you can't have both.
Drive it like you live.

There are people out there who will just not buy a 40+K car with a 4 cylinder engine. Audi will happily sell a 6 cylinder to this category. And there is really nothing wrong with that. If the gas prices stay were they are now and the price difference was minimal I'd get the 3.2 engine.
But I still remember 50+ dollar fill-ups from last summer and I can live with 2.0T badge and a single exhaust. Given that performance of the two engines is very similar I chose to spent 3K difference on other options.
