hi ppl, just wanted to make a pointless thread about how much i love my new 2011 a4 quattro. i live in nyc and even though are stupid mayor did not plow the streets i was able to traverse all over my neighborhood in my new a4 with all season tires without much of a problem (got stuck once driving into a snow bank to go around a stuck corolla). my co worker has a 2010 328xi and got stuck pulling out of the parking lot and he damned it to hell and says this is the end of his relationship with bmw, so much for x-drive (so to all the bmw fanboys x-drive sucks when ur not using it on rollers). just wanna wish everyone a happy and healthy new year and keep the love for audi's burning stonger year after year.

OK, since the topic is "Torsen":
I would be interested to hear from someone with insight, either technical or from driving experience of the new RS5, the differences of 'our' Torsen diff versus Audi's new "Crown" gear diff. I'm thinking performance and durability/maintenance.

I have seen some presentations of the crown diff, but have not understood if the clutch is pressed by different forces (front/rear) or if a speed differential is necessary.
The new diff is marketed as "faster" in reaction. How can something be faster than "instant" torque multiplication?
