That roof outfit looks outstanding.
I'm very interested in getting the base bars for my Avant, however, they are not listed here on Audi Canada's site. Where did you purchase them? Price?

I've got the Audi bars on mine. They're nice bars and easy to fit but above 50mph they howl.

That's pretty poor considering the price* of them!!!


* - I got mine off ebay for about 1/2 price

After 2 days of use, I am happy to report there are no nav/sat receiving problems.
Granted, the box is empty at the moment, so I suppose the possibility of a full cargo box may change this.

I did notice that the box can slide fore and aft by quite a few inches, so if I do end up with a reception problem, I could slide the box more forward to totally reveal the antenna.

Dealers have them. The ones for the sedan are ~430$ I think.

A lot of the A6 Avant and Q7 owners (both have the same roof rail design as our B8 Avants) went with the Thule Aero bars because of the lower profile and presumably reduced wind noise. Maybe there's .005 MPG saved too?

I don't know what happens to sunroof clearance, though you probably wouldn't open it with a cargo box on top anyway.

Thanks for taking those close-ups. Do those Audi logo embossed covers flip open (or have a lock tumbler inside)?

Approximately how tall are the black feet, and how many inches is the bar above the centerline of the car (at the shortest clearance distance)?

Would you mind taking a photo straight from the front of the car, and perhaps one directly from the rear (to show the bars spanning the width of the car)?
