Hey, does anybody know the purpose of two red lights on headliner next moonroof controls?

To provide some soft light that illuminates the gearshift area if their is something you need to grab. It's red so it's not going to affect the drivers eyes very much. Also if you want to look at something real quick, just pull it into the red light.... you dont have to turn on the bright white cabin lights. Just a great little feature that germans provide.
