Type of cable for LIN bus cable running for AC repair
I am trying to figure out what type of wire to run for the LIN bus cable per the TSB on my B8 A4 (2009). I'm not very familiar with what requirements of the cable for transmitting LIN signals. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be forever great full. Thanks in advance.

Looks like it's just an electrical wire. From the looks of the TSB (some A/C no op is what a google search turned up), looks like you don't patch the broken wire. Instead you run a new wire, but there's no info on the electrical characteristics. I'd call the parts department at the dealership and see what they know of LIN cable overlay stock. Probably comes in cut to length. That way at least you know you're using the correct type of wire for that application.
The AUDI edu doc mentions:
The LIN bus system is a single-wire bus. The wire has a basic colour (violet) and a code colour. The wire cross-section is 0.35 mm2. A screen is not necessary
.35 mm^2 is 22 AWG. It's got to be cheap.

Awesome response. I don't know why I didn't think to call the Audi dealer. But I am checking with them this morning since it would be best to use the actual stock wiring colored if they will sell to me. But if not I think I have some wire that will work. I just always get nervous messing with the thin wiring on my car as it is. Thanks for the response. Hopefully this will take care of my issue today and I'll be ready for summer with a cool car.
