Dear all, has anyone actually gotten the voice command function of the A4 2009 base model to work? I've tried an assorted range of commands but to no avail. Just curious to know if anyone has had any luck. I don't have navigation or any of the extra features so perhaps this is why I have not been successful in using this command. Thank you for your help. Did you try the help command? That was what got me going.

I have a 2009 P+... Honestly, I don't ever use the voice commands. Like in the telephone, I'm not going to train it with peoples names to call them. It's just to just flip through the call log/directory on my center display from the steering wheel.

Other commands, I can just as easily hit the button to switch from Nav to iPod screens, as I can by waiting to talk to it... not to mention if I have some jackass passenger in the car that thinks it's appropriate to talk, or shout commands over me, while I'm talking to the car.

I used voice command once as I drove out of the dealership when I first bought my car. I told it to call 'Mom' but it called someone else so I never used it since. Easier for me just to click through the MMI screen.

I use the "Dial Number" command all the time. The screen interface where you twist the **** and press just sucks.

My car makes me say the number in 3 or 4 digit groups. That annoys me.

That woman is very impatient. You must take a breath and spit out the number all at once.
