Default Xenon light issue

Hi I have a 2013 Audi A4 with bi-xenon headlights with the led strip part number 8k0 941 006 C . The driver side dipped headlight is faulty and it's not the bulb or ballast. Ordered a reconditioned light on eBay but didn't realise the part number differs by the last letter . 8K0 941 006 D. I only realised when I changed the light over and the LED strip doesn't work. Are these 2 parts different and that's why it won't work or could my new unit just be faulty?

Audi only sells the assembled headlamp, for a facelift bi-xenon without cornering/AFS, that would be 8K0 941 043 (left) and 044 (right). It very well could be that the base headlamp shell in that part number is 005 (left) and 006 (right). But as you've discovered, Audi has various revision letters on these part numbers. Sometimes, it's an updated part, sometimes it's a different application. In this particular instance, for 043, we see six different revisions. 043 is ROW (rest of world), drive on right side of road. This was replaced by 043C. 043A is ROW, drive on left side. This was replaced by 043D. 043B is US spec. This was replaced by 043E.

So which 044 revision, and therefore application, does your 006C and 006D match up to? There's no way to know for sure. In the US, we don't have asymmetrical beam pattern for high/main beam; I think that's what's different and why there's different left/right headlamps for ROW. But none of this would relate to why your LED strip doesn't work. Unless that's a US spec one (but you'd see that from the LED side marker which is specific to us). The wiring is not the same between the ROW and US lamps.
