I've found one advantage of Apple Maps over the built-in Audi maps: when I enter a different state, Audi maps require that I change my state location before it can find the location. It's totally seamless with Apple Maps.
Hey y'all, anyone having Carplay audio issues where the sound is much lower while streaming music while in CarPlay in comparison to just listening to the radio on the mmi? Also the CarPlay while in reverse (with parking sensors activated) still occurs for me. I realize that I am running beta software on my phone but just wanted to share my experience and hopefully Audi/Apple will fix these issues soon!
This is the MMI software version I am running on. Is this current or do I need to update?
IOS12, on a iPhone Xs
Disconnects continuesly when using WAZE ( At one point it was every minute for 9 minuted before I gave up)
This morning, I killed all the open apps on the iPhone, and the car still felt there was a navigation program navigating on the iPhone, and refused to give me the in-car Maps on the cockpit. I needed to do a hard Reboot on the phone to get rid of it.
Seems to be related to WAZE for me at this time. I drove 2 hours with the phone connected, and no ‘apps’ running and it did not disconnect.
It sure sounds like a problem with Waze. Is Waze set to using Location Services "Always" or "While Using the App" (set in Privacy settings)? If it is set to "Always", I would change to "While Using the App".
Do you have the same problems with Google Maps or Apple Maps?

WAZE was set to “Always” where Google Maps (which I have not noted the issue, or it was never bad enough to note) was set to ‘While using the APP’
I will road test to see how this changes the interaction.
