Half quart low on first 6000 miles ...I would attribute that to break in...and forget it...now at 24000 you are golden. Going in for 2 year service in a month at about 13000...well see how much oil is down. I know the dealer will laugh and say its normal. I bought a liter of oil to carry in truck just in case.....that oil isn't something you just pick up on the road...its insurance.

Every car burns oil and the B9 is no exception, My 1st oil change burn about 20% after 10k (Castro 5w-30), My 2nd is at 7k 12% burn (Pennzoil 0w- 40) and the MMI always shows full, I check my oil by going into the engine ECU and look at the oil level history. It record mileage, date and oil level % periodically. I believed our cars are a 5 quarts capacity with the extra 0.2 quarts to conceal any oil consumption.

Just visited A5/A5 SB/S5/S5 SB forum. There is a guy with A5 SB had a complete engine failure. Looks the first one we saw so far.

If you are referring to the 'S' in "TFSI" it stands for Stratified.
