I would not get the 252HP without AWD (if that is even still an option), on anything but clean and dry roads ESP will likely be on all the time trying to manage that power. But IMHO the 190HP FWD is fine and has plenty of power for just cruising around. AWD is more fun but if that doesn't matter then FWD is sufficient. I would strongly recommend to get the Premium Plus though for the LED headlights, B&O sound system and other safety and convenience features that are included.

AWD has been covered pretty extensively. If you never drive aggressively and live in a fair weather area, you know whether AWD is a significant advantage for you or not.

As for your questions about VC vs. AWD, the standard gauges will give the same essential information as the VC.

The B&O system is a significant upgrade over the standard audio system. The LED headlights are a significant functional upgrade over the projectors.

The S Line exterior styling package was available on a 2017 premium if you got the "Season of Audi" package, but there weren't too many of those around even when they were available.

I agree with most of the posts in this thread.. Go with AWD. VC is nice, but like others have said, it's a toy and doesn't change the driving characteristics, AWD definitely changes driving for the better under "spirited" driving and bad road conditions. (snow, rain, etc..)

So posting some images of the Audi I purchased. After reviewing comments and looking at Youtube videos about FWD version I went with the 2017 Premium Plus model with Technology Package (includes Virtual Cockpit). The Premium Plus has black color headliner cloth which is found in Sport package of Audi A4, B&O speakers, LED Headlights, Folding side mirrors, Parking Plus sensors, the S Line badge on the side of the car and the S Line logo towards the bottom of the side doors. Hertz was selling it for $26K exact and it has 30K miles on it. They also have other Premium only models without Tech package which sell at $25K or $26K but are AWD version.

Very nice car and a good price.

Make sure you top off that coolant using the pink coolant from Audi. If you mix in a different type bad things can happen.

Thanks I see you noticed the coolant level being low in the photo. I also found out soon after when Audi warned me that coolant is low soon after purchasing the car. I bought the Pink G13 Coolant from Advance Auto Parts that was concentrate version that require 50/50 mixing with mater before putting it into the coolant. I have a 2018 Prestige. The only thing I will add to what others have brought up is to make sure you are okay with any concessions you may have to make going with a lower trim model. I personally had a hard time with my 2014 C300 because i went with the base model and found myself with buyers remorse afterwards. In terms of the Virtual Cockpit; it’s cool and has some usefulness but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. The bigger nav screen, better appointed trim, and top end sound system were musts for me, however.
