Coding MPH from Km/h for Virtual Cockpit
Apologies in advance if this has already been covered...
I have an '18 B9 with Virtual Cockpit (Canada-spec). I do a fair bit of travelling between Canada and the USA and would like to have a complete MPH dash setup when in the US.
In adjusting the units via the MMI (MENU-->SETTINGS-->Measurements (Units)), I'm switching over every option available from metric to imperial.
However once completed the VC speedometer gauge adjusts to MPH accordingly (eg-40MPH), yet the oversized centered numerical value is out of sync and remains set in km/h (eg-66km/h).
Are there any codes available to convert the numerical value/units to MPH?

No idea if that can be changed. In America it’s the other way around. When I set it to kmph, the centre read out shows mph. There might be a long coding method via obdeleven or Vcds but I haven’t tinkered with it.

That's plain odd! Does it automatically "fix itself" when you cross into the US? Maybe it's geo-adjusted based on GPS location.

I have made vice versa, that's why it is possible:

Try to do 17 Instruments - Byte 6 - bit 2 (from 0 to 1)
if it won't help also set "dual_speedometer" in 17 block long coding as "yes"

In my european model '17 B9, if i change the value in the MMI from km/h to mph it changes both the rotary display and also the center read out. Romania market model

I don’t think it’s a bug. It works that way for all NA Audis
thats interesting. I’m sure it can be adjusted using OBDEleven. Btw I kinda like it that the dial can be set to kmph whereas the centre reading shows mph. I’m weird.

But if anything, doesn't that suggest a bug?
You have a setting for units in the VC. You change that setting.. but one part of the VC doesn't adjust accordingly. My theory would be that, instead of using that setting, the logic for the big digital speedometer is determining the 'proper' units by looking at the country of the car (since, as you've said, the Canadian cars stubbornly stick to km/h and the US ones stick to MPH). Seems like a bug to me.
And apparently the European version of the VC software doesn't behave that way, again suggesting that this is a mistake in the logic in the NA software.

Maybe done to quickly identify vehicles imported from US to Canada?
