I'll read through the replies more carefully later but thanks all for the suggestions, some things I definitely would not have thought about.

It's good to hear some of you had positive experiences with your (previously) loaner cars.

My hesitation when I first heard it was a loaner was with it being driven by so many different people who may not have been careful with it. But then again I wouldn't know that buying it used no matter what.

I'll just have to look more into it.

I bought a 2018 A5 coupe CPO loaner last Feb. and haven't noticed anything amiss. Great discount considering I bought same model year. The only two cosmetic things were a slight scuff on the right front bumper which they touched up and a small scratch on the aluminum door trim. Those could have have happened loaner or otherwise.

One thing I forgot to ask for was the front license plate mounting plate. My car didn't come with a front plate attached (glad), but would be nice to have it if I decide/need to attach.
