Default Do you put snow tires on your Audi during the winter?

Just picked up an 18 A4 manual a few weeks ago. I live in PA. Who switches out summer/winter tires? Do you have a separate set of rims for the snow tires if so?

I put on a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 recently and it's been amazing in the snow.

I'm in PA, using the OEM all-seasons and will buy (better) all-seasons when they wear out. It's the first car I've had in 30 years that I haven't had two sets that I swap twice a year.

I do have two sets of rims and tires - winter and summer. It is mandatory to use winter tires here between Nov 15th and March 1st. That is the law since way too many crashes happens in the mountains and highways due to lack of proper tires. Except the better tires for the season you get different look of your car in the winter.

I'm in Ohio and have used OEM all-seasons for a decade (Q5 and A5), never had an issue.

Default All seasons

I have the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and they have been just fine for the past 3 years. Getting ready to replace them probably with another set of All Season tires but with the Pilot Sport A/S 4 this time.

I have used Nokian WR G4 for winter-oriented all seasons on prior cars with a lot of luck (I'm in Chicago area - where snow doesn't stay on ground for long). Currently running the OEM tires it came with - hoping to get through this winter (easier b/c of COVID - not much driving) but if you want only one tire (i.e., not winter/summer) Nokan's are great. Pilot Sport A/S 4 is also supposed to be great (same with Continental DWS).

There are a number of All Season tires that do a very good job in the snow. None of them are as good as good dedicated snow tires.

Yes, I have a summer setup and a winter setup. The winters go on around turkey day and come off in the spring.

Swapping out wheels and tires twice a year gives me an opportunity to check things out under the fenders (brakes and suspension) and give the wheels a good cleaning.
