Well it seems like Mercedes is moving towards using the same interior across all models because their new A series has the S class interior.

Is that a good thing? Probably not but it does and probably will bring in more customers because of that.

Imagine getting the A6/7/8 interior in the A4 though! Yummy

if by the same interior, you mean 2 screens, then sort of, yes. The A class and S share little else but the badge though. Materials alone are vastly different, as you would expect given the price categories

Eventually, Audi will adopt the new interior design language from the executive level sedans (A6, A7, A8), down the line as well.

Yep, not the same quality in all fronts but same design philosophy that it's still practically very similar from the higher end models. I would like to see that A6/7/8 design trickle down to the A4, because I really love that interior.

Like the new front end and the LEDs. With the new A6, 7, and 8 LEDs - the A4/5 look likes it doesnt belong in the same Audi family image. Maybe like some others have said B9.5 or B10
MY19 C-Class has the dual screen as well, Really interested in seeing how the new 3-series turns out, the interior from spy shots looks not bad.

The new A1 probably shows where the A4 is headed.

They are real (hot) exhaust pipes.

A very minor facelift isn't likely to do much for flagging sales, especially in the face of stiffer competition.
Well, the C was definitely behind the B9 two years ago... (I never considered the 3 so I have no opinion about it)

I guess the question remains - are sales that poor? and given the general weakness of the sedan segment... should they be expecting better?

And at least one hybrid drivetrain, surely.
I think switching to the full touch screen center stack would require too much re-engineering/throwing out of stuff that was only paid for 3 years ago, so I'm inclined to agree. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if the touch screen climate control unit cost LESS to make than the button-heavy one on the B9.

Currently optional DAP features standard across the board... only if required by regulators, if you ask me. Someone at work got an A3 Komfort, her car doesn't have a backup camera, say. Audi, like the two other two Germans, loves to nickel and dime people on equipment that other manufacturers consider basic.

I came across these sales figures. They are U.S. sales thru May:

A4 14,504 -6% (A5 = 10,607 +143%)
C Class 23,917 -32.5%
3 Series 20,629 -8.7%

Isn't that indicative that Audi is doing something right? They're losing sales less than the leading competitors...

(and really, being at 70% of BMW 3 series... would have been seen as an achievement not so long ago).

In Canada, Audi and BMW are tied for overall sales. Mercedes mildly ahead. Numbers can be found at https://www.desrosiers.ca/sales .

Guess we will see how it really works when it comes out. Hopefully they are actually physically part of the exhaust system and not some fake outlet like that notoriously bad fake exhaust job on the Lexus IS-F.
