Anyone know if you can update the gracenote database? Any song past 2016/17 doesn’t have album art when playing from Spotify via Bluetooth and it’s a bit annoying imo

So how would one go about updating it

I am not entirely sure if the method I have used is actually legal because it involves extracting the Gracenote database out of a firmware update for another car and dumping it into the MMI via the CLI. So maybe just ask your dealer or use Google.

That's the right way, but Version 17 (for Europe) is the last one you can extract out of a firmware. I have the same system as OP. (MMI2 High Qualcomm @ 1329 and Gracenote v.17)

I already have that. I thought things had moved on. It's amazing how clever some folks are that they managed to figure out that a Mazda uses the same Gracenote format and ported that over to the Audi.

Do you have an instruction on how to do it? I've got the file on an SD card but the place I got it from haven't supplied instructions and they have closed for the holidays.
