"In fact, I was surprised to see that cover art is displayed on the MMI screen while streaming through Bluetooth."

Hmm, there was some discussion about this a couple of days ago. You're the first person who has mentioned they were able to get album art on MMI from Bluetooth.

Not sure if it matters, but all my music is purchased from the iTunes Store. Perhaps the MMI system likes the way they label their tracks.

But like I said, the system is definitely not grabbing cover art from the music files, as some of the covers are clearly different than the ones embedded in the music files. There were also a couple of more obscure tracks that were given generic covers.

I play most of my music through Google Music via Bluetooth and I get cover art for a lot of things, but not always. Sometimes I just get a generic "Rock" or "Alternative Music" cover art. I'm not sure it's so much sending art via Bluetooth as the MMI is querying the song/artist and pulling it down on its own (perhaps via Audi Connect).

For the album art, I think that might be coming from the GraceNotes database. I saw that software in the software listing in the MMI panel. If that is the case, it means that your song will have to exactly match the song listed in GraceNotes and that explains why album art is there for some songs and not for others. I get album art for maybe 75% of my songs and I use Google Play Music over Bluetooth for all my music.

If it's plugged in via USB and using apple car play does it use the album art that's stored in the audio file?

Yes, it's used as the background, but you can barely see as the screen is mostly black with song details and controls on top.

Example (not my image):

Nice, suppose it's better than nothing, any options that make the album art a little more visible?

A few issues, I wonder if anybody else is suffering the same?

1, The Bluetooth was initially terrible, phone often would not connect and calls/music would be so distorted they could not be heard, eventually Audi agreed to change the Bluetooth module, which at least seems to have solved the issues with the phone connected at all, but the call quality and streaming music is still choppy, especially when in my pocket (I have tried with several different brand phones). Anybody else having this issue?

2, The keybob remote unlock range is terrible, not too bad for the back of the vehicle, but from the front I would say I need to be a metre from the car before it will lock/unlock, particularly annoying when walking away and trying to lock it. When reported to the dealer as they were changing the Bluetooth I was told "wel if yours is wrong they must all be wrong because they are all like that" surely not...

A little disappointing so far after switching from Mercedes, I know you can get faults with any car but they seem quite dismissive of "trivial issues" as I drive a lot for work, lack of useable Bluetooth is a real problem for me sorry to drone on but hopefully other b9 owners can confirm this isn't the norm.

Cheers, Matt.
I know this is a really weird solution but it works for me 100% of the time if I'm too far away from my A4 I put the fob up to my chin and press it and it amplifies the signal. The B9 does have a ridiculous range on the remote, but what's normally like 10 feet depending on obstacles is extended to 100ft with the jaw trick, at least that is the distance that I've done it from the most. Hope this helps.

Mitchfin - I second that trick. People mock it, but I've been doing it for years with other vehicles and it is a noticeable difference. Of course, I might be on the way to giving myself a brain tumor, but ...

I bet you could increase the range even further if you use this trick while wearing some tin foil on your head LOL
