RPM Change When Toggling Drive Select Mode
I noticed something interesting this weekend with my 6-speed b9. I generally drive in the individual drive select mode as I have the steering set to comfort and the engine/suspension set to dynamic. I installed a CTS transmission mount which introduced some NVH, especially at idle. Knowing that some of the drive select modes have different idle characteristics, I toggled between the modes, only to return to the individual setting. Prior to changing the mode, my individual setting was idling around 900 rpm and I was getting a bit of cabin NVH. When I toggled from individual to comfort, and back to individual, the idle raised to 1k, which is where I believe it should sit because of the dynamic engine setting.
Through the weekend, I found myself needing to toggle individual off and on in order to get rid of the NVH as that extra 100RPM smooths that out.
My question is - why does my drive mode idle at 900 rpm, and then jump to 1k after toggling off and on? Shouldn't it always be at 1k?

Normal idle is about 700-800 RPM on the DSG equipped models. I have only found that it idles at 1K when the Engine is set to Dynamic whether through the Dynamic drive select or Individual or when Sport mode is selected on the shifter.

So thats exactly what I'm experiencing with my car too. the thing is, if I turn the car off in individual, then restart the car, it wont reach that 1k idle, it will be the lower one. If i toggle the drive mode off and then back on to individual/dynamic, the RPM jumps to idle, but it will never be at 1k on a fresh start (Even when warm)

I always bump the setting to Sport just before a light goes green and idle always climbs from 800 to 1000. I assume that's just part of the setting and allows a quicker clutch engagement for better throttle response from standstill.
I haven't really paid attention to vibration, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the engine runs a bit smoother with a few more revs.
