Shopping cart vs Clear Bra
The shopping cart gremlins have finally got a hold of my ride. Parking in b f e didn’t help and I came out to some damage to my car. The front bumper is covered in PPF. At first, I panicked thinking that the damage went through the PPF and damaged the paint. After washing the car and applying a bit of polish, I believe the paint underneath got spared, but can’t tell for sure. I guess the only way to find out is to peel it off and see. Has anyone replaced sections of PPF before? The bottom piece I’m not worried about since it’s a small cut out that’s not connected to a larger piece. The top area, however is part of a larger piece. Is this salvageable or will I need to replace the entire thing now?

Well only you can really answer that question. How is clear bra applied? In my case iirc it's 3 pieces. 2 sides and 1 lower portion. Good luck with the repair! Stuff happens. I had to reapply lower lip after I hit some freeway debris few months ago. Wasn't too bad... expect the curve.

If you installed the clear bra the "right way" i.e. custom, wrapped edges, no template, then it's unlikely to replace as it's typically one piece. However, your photos above look template-d, which may come in separate pieces.

Thanks for the replies! Ziebart applied the PPF 2 years ago, so I’m going to take it back to them on Wednesday to see what my options are. It looks like the left, right and middle pieces are all connected. The bottom right piece that I circled appears to be a stand alone piece so that one shouldn’t be an issue. Fingers crossed for no paint damage...

see pictures in most post (link below) on how Xpel saved us, and what to expect.

- On my A6, no need to remove film, as paint easily removed and film intact (as well as pain underneath)
- On my daughter's Q3, film was removed about 3 weeks after incident, dent pulled out and new film applied. Can't tell.
- On son's stolen and subsequently damaged Camry, film protected paint, but was no match for telephone pole that the *&%$ thief ran into.
