what is this speaker underneath the dashboard next to OBD port?

Default what is this speaker underneath the dashboard next to OBD port?
Does anyone know what this little speaker beneath the driver's side dash and next to the OBD port is supposed to be? This doesn't seem to be part of the audio system and there's no equivalent on the passenger side. Is it for all the chimes and warning beeps?

Could be for the emergency calling feature which is usually separate from the audio/MMI stuff.
