I would probably due an oil change as in Canada we use a slightly different oil (5w-30) etc bc of the cold.
I know in warmer city's they run a different oil code to make the oil thinner since its not cold.

The newer VW/Audi spec vw 504 00 oil is 5w-30 and can be used universally.

But being in Dallas, I am going to wait until the summer tires wear down...

Yes, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the "Sport plus" and "Ultra sport" packages which force summer tires. If you want to get the maximum performance out of the car, the summer tires are necessary. Also, while there is a factory available 18" all-season tire, there is no 19" all-season tire developed by Audi.

Sorry venting. Between the high Ultra Sport sticker price, the $1500 I paid over that sticker, then the $1100 for shipping, I paid more than a base S4. And got two fewer cylinders.
I am just about to the end of the 1,000 mile break-in period, so I haven't been over 4,000 RPM, but I am already disappointed with the engine - it just isn't as aggressive as I wanted for a $55,000 "Ultra Sport". All because I refuse to drive an automatic. I mean all because Audi refuses to make a current S4 6MT...

The whole purpose of the Sport plus and Ultra sport was to get the maximum performance out of an A4 6MT since there is no S4 6MT anymore. You can't expect it to perform like a 354hp V6, but it is a very quick car and handles amazingly well and has the shortest stopping distance in its segment.
And while your entry cost was high, this car will hold its value much more than an S4. There are only 40 of these and that's it. Talk about rare!

Going in, the Ultra Sport was never going to be appreciably faster than Granny’s Ibis White A4 Quattro Premium with tan non-sport seats and an automatic. The engines are the same. That being said, a basic A4 in 2018 is a bit quicker than a B5 S4 was back in the day. Hardly slow in the grand scheme of things.
As far as cost, it depends on when and where you bought it. The dealer I ended up going to was 2.5 hours away, but they gave me all the available discounts—it was just another A4 to them.

Sorry to hijack this thread. Buyer's remorse I guess. My last Audi was a 1998 B5 A4 5MT, before they offered the S4 in the US. I couldn't have afforded it back then if they did. Now that I can finally afford a S4, they don't offer it in manual. I don't regret buying the Ultra Sport, but I am pretty underwhelmed - and not just the engine...

Now if you could pick a better summer tire, there would be more of a performance gap - I have Yokohama S.Drive on my RX7, and those are awesome. IMHO about as good as you can get in a commonly available tire with good wet traction...
