I always thought that our engines were exactly the same, but realised that it's not true, after comparing our engine bays. Yours is placed vertically in contrast with the TT's that is horizontally placed (that's a new discovery to me!). After seeing that I couldn't provide any serious info, I decided to drop a question on the board. Oh, I'm referring to the 1.8T engine and it's a MY '01 if memory serves me right.

Back to the point, friend is looking to have a big turbo conversion done. He's interested in installing a Garrett GT28R turbo. He already has a full exhaust system to support such a setup and has a tuner that can remap according to the spesific turbo. He just wants to know wether there's a whole turbo kit available for his engine. If not (which will mean that he'll have to build lots of things from scratch), what parts should he be needing and what additional labor done to the engine? Also, is there a FMIC kit available for this application (just like the Forge kit for the 180hp TT's)? Can you guys give me some guiding lines of what he should look for?
