Default 2013 3.0T revised pcv/thermostat?

Hi all,

Will be a new owner of a 2013 C7 3.0T this week. Car has 99k miles on it mostly highway, and one owner, serviced at the dealership, owner has all the records, and no collisions. I Had it inspected at a reputable German mechanic yesterday, he said it was well maintained, with a slight sweat on the drivers front strut, and a slight flicker in one of the led taillights. Also no leaks except a slight valve cover sweat. Anyhow I am wondering if there were revisions to the pcv, and or thermostat on these models? I can't find much on issues with them, for these years and up.

Thanks

There is no PCV. What you are looking for is the oil separator. I'm sure there have been revision to those parts.
My car is throwing an error code for the oil separator. I will need to replace it. If anybody else have the same issue, please chime in on how easy is it to replace the part. I think you have to remove the supercharger to get to it.

Okay perfect thanks for your reply, picking the car up tomorrow 99k on it, 2013, no codes on it when they did the inspection. Looking like this might be a when, and not if repair, hopefully that's not the case.

I have a 2012 A6 3.0T and a couple months ago my coolant gauge was going into the red. I had the thermostat replaced. I also asked my indy shop to do the oil separator and look at the water pump as well. I ended up changing out both of those just to be safe. Cars been great since.

However I also had the transmission cooler shut off valve fail which is covered in this thread:

I did the replacement myself, but honestly I was trying to get a mechanic to do it. Not having a lift makes this repair a PITA. You need to have all the right tools for the job, the only thing I need was a good set of hose clamp pliers, but I made what I had work.

Good luck
