2017 A6 - Bluetooth Issue
Well, we just got our new A6 and my smartphone isn't working seamlessly with the bluetooth. I can pair the phone up just fine, and link all my contacts, but making and receiving calls is a very hit and miss affair. For example, sometimes when I make a call, it doesn't go through. Then sometimes when someone calls me, I can't answer. But, then sometimes, the incoming and outgoing calls work just fine.
One thing that consistently doesn't work is the "End Call" function. The phone simply won't disconnect from a call ... but ultimately times out and drops after a couple of minutes? On occasion, the phone will actually unpair when this happens. I've tried un-pairing both the car and phone, and starting over, all to no avail. Very frustrating!
Here's the interesting part. My 2017 A6 is now in at the dealership for a couple of days, and they have given me a 2016 A7 as a loner. And ... my Samsung Galaxy works just fine with that car. My Galaxy, which is only 6 months old and has Android Lollipop version 5.1.1 operating system, also worked perfectly with my 2014 Passat.
So, I've informed my sales rep of all this and we'll see what they are able to accomplish. Will update this post when I get the car back and see if the issue was corrected. However, in the meantime if anyone has any comments on this, feel free to chime in.

Well, my dealership couldn't find any problems with my Bluetooth. They tried a couple of other cell phones and my system worked just fine. So they suspected that it might be my particular phone causing issues.
Coincidentially, a couple of days ago, I received the very first system software update alert for my particular Galaxy (J1 Mini). So, I downloaded and installed the new update. Lo and behold my phone now works perfectly with the car. Obviously Samsung was aware of this issue and now have the glitch fixed.
