Having paired and Bonded my phone to the car, my phonebook has been uploaded and all calls are made from the in car sim. This happens even if my phone is not in the car. However, if my phone is in the car and is paired to the car any calls received on my phone cannot be answered via the in car system. What am I doing wrong.

You can only receive calls either by the phone connected using bluetooth OR by the in-dash SIM you cannot have the car connected to both for phone calls at the same time. The primary purpose for the in-dash SIM is to provide a data connection for Audi Connect. You need to specify in the telephone menu whether the car is to use the indash SIM or the bonded phone for phone calls. You don't say where you are located but if it outside North America then if the car is 2013 or earlier and has not had an MMI software upgrade then the presence of the indash SIM overrides the ability to have the Phone connected to the car
