If that matches up well then that means you can just use the real-time mpg gauge to see where your mileage is good and when its bad.
You can see just how much of a hit the short hops, with the engine cold, are vs your longer weekend jaunts.

I have to say that baffles me. My wife has driven her 2013 2.0T CVT for about 10,000 miles. Over that entire period she has averaged 25.8 MPG. We usually see 31-33 MPG on the road and 22-25 MPG in town. I have been really impressed with its economy thus far...

I think you're right. It is baffling. So I called my service department. He also noted that I should bring the car in because I've never filled it more than 18 gallons and I always thought I rode on "E" to test the car. He thinks I could have a faulty sensor.
It goes in on Thursday.

Not very sure about the fuel pump technology now, driving till E is bad for the fuel pump. The fuel pump sits inside the fuel tank, and it uses the fuel as a coolant. So its better to fill up just before warning light shows up. Hope the technology of fuel pump has changed.

A 2.0T should not get 19mpg. My 3.0T achieved 19mpg during break-in period, and it gets better.

Do you have AWD or FWD? What do you expect in L.A. in bumper to bumper with the a/c on? CA emissions and diluted gas! You should get 30 mpg highway as I get 32 in my 2012 A4.
I am in southern Westchester County NY with a 4-mile stop and go commute and local errands most days. Doubt I get over 20.
Still 30% better than my 2006 Infiniti M35X. Co-worker's G35X was also a gas guzzler.
Nothing you can do but try to keep off the turbo and brakes. Unless you go to a hybrid or diesel what mileage can you expect from a car the size of an A6?

I keep an Excel spreadsheet for every car I’ve owned for the last 10 or more years, I checked it for my four recent Audi’s (my current 2013 A6 P+ 2.0; 2010 A6 P+ 3.0; 2008 A4 2.0 and 2006 A4 2.0). They all are Quattro and have Tiptronic, the 2013 being the only 8-speed, the others 6-speed.
At this point I have just over 6,500 on the 2013 A6.
Following are the overall in-service mpg’s on all 4 Audi’s from fill-up’s as close to the same total miles in service as I could:
2013 A6 2.0 6,455 miles 23.55 mpg
2010 A6 3.0 6,478 miles 21.26 mpg
2008 A4 2.0 6,467 miles 23.54 mpg
2006 A4 2.0 6,296 miles 22.98 mpg
I live in southern Westchester county NY and drive probably 50% highway, 35% suburban and 15% NYC.

27.6mpg here....
I did a long trip and averaged 8.5l/100km or 27.6mpg (US gal). Mix of interstate, city, country roads, and I wasn't all that gentle on the throttle.
I keep the transmission off Sport for the most part, as that's a gas sucker, but the worst I've been getting is 20mpg when it's largely city driving.
I frankly find that the A6 2.0t gets better gas milage than my A4 6 speed.

I agree the 2.0 in the A6 with the 8-speed seems better in terms of mpg than the 2.0 in my A4's with the 6-speed.

another +1 for A6 efficiency. Based on my same commuting pattern and driving habit on country road with speed no more than 45MPH, my 3.0T has the same MPG with my 2007 A4 2.0T, which is averaging on 22 MPG on a 12 months calculated data, not from DIS (even though the numbers are very close)
