Numerous answers and I agree with all that it could be various problems with the brake system such as air in the the brake lines, brake line leak, master cylinder leak, etc. Most of which I've experienced in other cars. The difference is the car stops normally, the brake pedal feels normal (except as described in my original post), there is no fluid loss and the dealer says that's the way it was designed. One owner says his operates the same way as mine. Perhaps it's peculiar to the sport package. I'll check with Audi USA and another dealer on Monday.

Sounds fishy to me too..

Next time you're at the dealership, invite him to show you on one of the showroom vehicles or a loaner.

Radar, I just repatriated mine from office parking structure underground where it has been sitting for couple of weeks. Took forever to warm up as was 20 degrees here -- not leaving it sit so long again -- it was not happy. I didn't want to create an issue for myself with the car having sat for those two weeks and it being very cold but I did notice that if I kept constant slightly increasing pressure on the pedal it did sink further than I would have expected. I will try this again tomorrow but I have a feeling mine are similar to yours. And yes, I have sport package too. Kind of weird. My NSX has a pretty rock hard pedal feel and other than when it needed a new master cylinder, does not sink the way the A6 pedal seems to. Same as you, car stops normally, brake pedal feels fine in normal driving and no fluid loss. More tomorrow.

Best,
Jeff

Default RESOLVED

Today I called Audi Customer Service. As expected, they couldn't answer it, but suggested I contact another dealer. I contacted another dealer and the SA said I don't know, but I'm going to try it on a car in stock. He called back after trying various models including the A6. The pedal went almost to the floor on all he tried. As fishy as it sounds the answer is they are designed that way. Thanks to all for your comments.

Radar -- tried mine out today again. Same as yours. Very surprising.

Best,
Jeff
