Considering a 2013
I currently have a 2000 A6 2.7t, and a 2006 A6 4.2Quattro..... the 2006 has given me nothing but problems and headaches from suspension/compressor problems to it now not starting for whatever reason. Im considering biting the bullet, hurting my wallet, and purchasing a 2013. I found a Premium Plus with 69k miles in pristine condition for $24,500. My question is will it give me as much problems as my 2006? Is there anything special about it? I do all my own oil changes, will that be an issue with a 2013? (i know in the 2006 you can reset the service counter unless you take it to a dealship... uhg...) anything i should look for or be aware of? Thanks in advance!

I too used to own a '00 C5 and currently have an 06 4.2 C6 Although my C6 has ran perfectly...but I'm OCD re: maintenance and ensuring things are done right.
As for a possible move to a C7, there are a TON of threads on the forum regarding the very same topic, therefore leverage the SEARCH function and you'll see plenty, here's a couple of examples:

It's always a luck of the draw on these cars but Audi has not only added more tech but it appears they have also generally improved the reliability of the A6. I have 47K miles onn my 2013 and not a whimper of any issue even worth mentioning (knock on wood). Neverthe less, you should get the car fully check out by an independent Audi certified tech before committing.

One of the major German car publications, Auto Motor und Sport, runs long term vehicles (100,000km). They had a C7 A6 Avant on the fleet. The headline translated to English:
You can find the original article here, where they mention likes (lots) and dislikes (very few: slow MMI and high brake wear about it). Use a browser translate tool:
Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro im Dauertest: Fehlerfrei über 100.000 km - AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT
Of course, as Snagit7 says, can be luck of the drawer with an individual car. Best check is to drive a few of them if possible. And most certainly drive a new one as a benchmark - as that will quickly show what might be off a bit.
No failures, no breakdown, no defects, and the more than 100,000 Kilometers : That should be the rule, but there were so far only once in 50 years time test in Auto Motor und Sport - and never in the superclass. He has made it: the Audi A6 3.0 TDI.

Ive actually located a 2012 at an Audi dealership. Car has 75k miles.... but is one owned, was bought at that dealership, had every service done at that dealership, has all scheduled maint. done at that dealership, and they have already done the 75k service on it, the owner just traded it in on a new audi...... miles are a little higher than i was looking for, but seems to have been reliable so far and has complete service records from the dealership it was bought from.....
