Cruise control speed limit system
#21
So far as I know with my 2016 A6 I can pre-set the cruise speed I want (say, 65 mph) before starting off and the car will accelerate to and maintain that speed. If I need to go faster (for example to pass someone), I use the accelerator pedal and go up to say 72 mph for a moment or two until I pass the vehicle ahead of me, then when I lift off the accelerator the car resumes the pre-set 65 mph. If I use the accelerator pedal to stay at the higher speed (beyond the set 65 mph) for longer than 5 minutes, that preset is in effect erased.

You guys in the U.S. don't seem to know about speed limiter, but in the UK, Germany and in Hong Kong we have this. In my case, I only have a speed limiter in my A4 without cruise function, meaning I need to keep my foot on the gas and once it hits the limit, it will not progress. I would've preferred the actual cruise but apparently it's an option for extra money. Go figure.
