Gap between windshield and dash
I usually hang the parking permit for my office on the rear view mirror, but yesterday, in a hurry I placed it on the dash. Stupid me, didn't realize there is a gap between the dash and the windshield, and the permit slipped down. The gap is very small (only as thick as a credit card) so difficult to retrieve, and the black border of the windshield is blocking the view from outside.
I tried putting a piece of cerele box packaging to see how deep the gap is (6 inches) and if I can "fish" it out. Nope. I tried to suck it up using my Dyson, but no luck again. Next step i am thinking is to blow air (will have to borrow a friends leaf blower) to see if that works.
Anybody faced a similar situation? Any other suggestions?

I got the replacement permit, but hate myself for being careless. Thanks to my kids, when my previous car goes to a chop shop they will find a few goodies pushed into nooks and crevasses.

I woulds try some double sided tape but on something thin and semi-flexible like a plastic ruler.
I used the same trick to retrieve the film leader from 35mm film cans when I wound it back too far.
