IMHO, its very location dependent. Our C6 Avant has them and they are lifesaver when driving through the Colorado mountains in winter slush. Our A7 C7 does not and headlights are often caked thick with a 1/4 inch layer of slush/ice when we get to our mountain home.

So, the hood washing is not an undocumented feature?

They are following the cheapo American way I suppose...it would be nice to give us back everything the C6 had including the compass in the mirror, full spare, first aid kit, dual mirrors in visors, better quality Bose sound system...etc.

I would like to add a switch to turn on/off the feature, and to also spray when needed. When it's slushy out I'd want to control when I spray then waiting for the predetermined time base on wiper operation. Has anyone tried installing a separate switch?

On my C6 if you turned off the headlights the washers would not spray. You can try that. It's simple.

Hmmm, you got me thinking. I know they will operate if you turn your lihts on. I'll have to try to get them to spray, then turn the lights off and on and see if they'll spray that way. Thanks!

Only work with lights on and then only every (I think) 10th activation of the windscreen washer
