I have need to run my car on ACC Power for an extended period of time while connected to a charger.

However, when ever I leave the car on ACC Power the car eventually shuts itself down after a few minutes or so. I have not timed it, but it's probably about 20 minutes.

One thing I noticed is that if I open and close the driver door, it resets the timer. But if I leave the car alone it shuts itself down after a while.


Is there a way to override this feature, or maybe disable the feature in VCDS?

With VCDS you may increase the delay to 30 minutes maximum.

Put in a second battery and power your loads from it. Use a double pole switch so you can select Audi 12 volts or auxiliary battery.

How does that defeat the ACC Power timer, though?

The car is still going to just shut off after 20 minutes of inactivity, isn't it?

I do not know how to defeat the feature - sorry.

Where and what are you doing that requires the ACC on? If it's in a garage then with all of your audio gear in the car then surely you have audio in the garage too? If you have a charger plugged in then you also have access to AC power.

Installed new speakers in the car and need to get them broken in before IASCA/MECA Finals next month. Was hoping to run them in for about 100 hours, but I can't do it if the car keeps shutting itself off every 20 minutes or so.

Pull the speakers out and run them on the bench.
You do realize that those speakers are only good for 100 hours don't you?

I don't have a bench with proper 12V power supply, nor do I want to pull the speakers and my amp at this time.


I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about?
The manufacturer specifically suggests a long break-in period for new drivers.

The guy selling the snake oil suggests running the speakers all night for a week. The power that you have will keep you and the neighbors up all night even at half volume.
I am open to new ideas but having worked in professional audio environments for over 40 years I am over the "Monster cable" bs and breaking in speakers is pretty close to the same hype.
I think that you have a great system and you should listen to it and enjoy it. If you can hear the difference after "breaking in" your speakers then you should be mixing audio for a living.
