If you would consider a TDI, see if you can find a new 2016, with a dealer that will deal. I was able to (and know of 2 other individuals) negotiate a deal where I paid for new car, what most dealers are asking for used. Some dealers will, some won't, but the available cars seem to be getting few and far between. Try to get 45 - 46% off msrp.

Appreciate the feedback guys. I actually ended up test driving the 2018 2.0 and 3.0. I noticed the upper timing chain tensioner noise on the 2.0 (started it at the lot versus the showroom with the 3.0). Ended up passing on the Audi's for now. Hopefully they will be on my radar 3 year from now.
Thanks again!

Update on the issues I mentioned previously:
Volume ****: software update fixed it (good call DB22). They updated the software in the '5 F control module' which I'm assuming is, or is part of, the MMI. They also took apart the **** and inspected it, and it rotates much smoother now.
Chain tensioner: I went on a 2 week vacation, started the car and no weird noises so I guess I don't have tensioner problems you mentioned, Acuransx. Knock on wood.
Had the airbag recall completed. Next recall is a fuel rail fix to prevent leaks - it's not out yet though. Will be in a month or two the dealer said.
It took 3 days for them to complete the recall and fix the volume ****. They apologized for not having an Audi replacement car for me and I stupidly said, "I don't care if it's a truck, as long as it gets me home and back". SO THEY GAVE ME A TRUCK!! Dodge Ram, V8. It's HUGE, and TALL. I pulled up to a garbage truck and the driver and I were at about the same elevation. Kind of fun driving it actually.

Lar glad you don't have any rat-tat- tat on startup! What's this about a fuel rail recall? I haven't heard anything about that yet. As for the Dodge Ram, don't get me started. Every idiot in the greater Detroit area with a Big 3 / Big 2 (whatever the heck it is now) drives one of those sh*tboxes -- makes me nuts to get behind one or if two of those are bookending me and I have to back out of a parking spot. 90% of the people who drive them around here don't need anything that big. To each his own. I just don't get the concept of a 60K+ truck.
Best,
Jeff
