Default MMI Upgrade, 15000 mile service

I'm taking in my A6 for its 15,000 mile service. Is there an upgrade to the MMI service that is performed dealing with Google Earth? The service advisor didn't seem to know anything about it. My quote for the service is $400.

I let my trial of Audi Connect expire. I don't travel much, but miss the novelty of Google Search in the car. Are there any new cheaper alternatives?

Thanks for your thoughts.

T-Mobile is offering 30 months of Audi Connect for $450 which equates to $15 per month.
Trusim and Ptel offer pay as you go plans which could end up being even less unless you use Google Earth regularly. You can do a forum search for further details.

Default Google Street View?

I renewed the T-Mobile account on a monthly basis.

Is there a MMI Upgrade or update that allows Google Street View?

Thanks!

You need to have the dealer update your MMI software to version 0566 for Street View.

Are you paying $30 per month to T-Mobile? If so, you should consider the 30 month plan for $450 which works out to half the price.

I am paying monthly. I've never kept a car over two years. I am very happy with my A6,

I am going to see if there is a charge for the MMI upgrade. Thanks for the number!

Are you going to keep the car for more than 15 months more? If so even if you change cars you should get the 30 month plan, and when you sell your car keep that SIM card for another audi car or for your IPad, I have used mine in tablets and another cars with zero problem, the vin number is attached to the sim only for the trial version, after that they don't care and they don't check.

Default Service Report

I had my service performed yesterday. I mentioned the MMI Update to the advisor. He know nothing about it, and wasn't interested in a TSB. I said that the screen froze on occasion. Six hours later I got my car back. Since there were no fault codes, nothing was updated. I still have the save version of MMI.

The dealership is an hour from home. I don't know if its worth taking it back just for the MMI update. I haven't had any problems with the car. It's so much better than my former BMW for reliability.

Thanks for the subscription ideas, guys. I may switch to the 30 month plan.

Is the MMI update worth a special trip?

You haven't said what year car or MMI version you have now so hard to answer.
