My 2008 A6 makes what can best be described as a loud gargle noise under acceleration coming from the engine compartment under the drivers feet. The noise seems to be half cycle of the engine revs. The local dealer can not identify the sound location and after testing said no CEL and the vehicle is operating perfectly according to their test equipment.
The noise is louder on a cold day. The car is no pleasure to drive with this noise. Any suggestions for a cause are welcome.
