Use a brass detail brush, the chrome is harder than the brass, so the brush cannot scratch it. It will feel really rough when scrubbing, but once you hit the chrome underneath it will become smooth. Some brakleen and a brass brush makes short work of dirty exhaust tips.

Thanks Xanmato, will try that next time cause I can already tell that the tips are going black again after a week of driving.

Recall 19M1 accomplished uneventfully. Dealer in Lexignton, KY is not in love with me. Is it because i bought it used at CarMax and I took it right to them and I am using them to get the free stuff taken care off? I think so, they can see it in my eyes. This would be the last place I would take the car to if there was something I couldn't do.

@60 K miles changed oil (Castrol 5w30 GTX magnatec) and filter (WIX). Only took out about ~3.9 L (with mityvac fluid evacuator) and MMI was saying I was ~75% full (as did the dip stick), so that seems about right. Put in a bit less that 4.7L

Took a look at the spark plugs which appear to be originals so purchasing new NGKs soon. May clear up the roughish idle on cold starts. Plugs a little bit white.

Also at 60k miles changed plugs, added dielectric grease to boots.
The subtle smooth shakiness on cold start was still there. A bit less perhaps.

Thinking about winter and need another dedicated set of winters.

These came up for sale locally. I see no problem with a 3 mm difference in offset and running 18 inch wheels. Do you guys concur?

Those wheels were a steal and almost drove 2 hours to pick them up, but alas, center hub/ bore was wrong. Called the dealer who was ZERO help helping me. The parts department should know the difference I would think.
His, were 57.1 mm and we are 66.5 Center Bore: From Wheel-size.com

Le grand bummer.

Dealership took care of my PODS recall today. Drove a Q5 to work and back. All good.
Still has some mild misfiring shaking when in starting up mode (higher revs for ~1 min). Goes away once warm.

At 64K miles, added 1/2 a quart of oil. The MMI was showing 25% oil as was the stick (maybe a smidgen less than that). Not bad, for oil consumption (correct me) 1/2 a quart in 4000 miles, with 95% of that in the city.

Added one cup of distilled water tot the cooling system.

Very solid car. Still enjoy the car but it was never a love affair, might be looking for something else at about 1 year of ownership.

Thanks for reading.
