Of course the Germans build better roads!
It comes down to several factors - the first and formost is attitude!
The Germans regard good roads as investments in safety and future expense.
The German populace is better trained at driving than almost all other western countries and have more respect for road usage and are generally better behaved.
Germany is small compared to America and Australia, with a high population density, meaning the cost per mile per person is low.
And finaly, you should see how they construct their Autobahns - they build them like they're building a continuous bridge, very highly engineered roads!
