Replace or "Inspect and Replace"
He showed me their maintenance schedule and it does state what he says with the added bullet of "replace only the front V belt for the compressor drive A6 and A7 with 3.0L V6 TFSI".
I know that this Audi dealer charges by "the book" so the amount he charges whether the belt is changed or not will be the same.
Big question: Should the front V belt on a 2012 A6 3.0L be changed during the 55K mile service regardless of its condition? I would opt for having it done but the advisor is adamant that it should only be replaced if it condition shows it needs it. (Of course if not done now, if they follow the schedule, when would they even check it again?)
The one for the supercharger should be replaced at 55k even though it does not necessarily need to be.
The other belt is checked again at 75k and replace if necessary.
Even though both would probably last over 100k miles.

(Note below from Audi maintenance schedule for US 2012..."front belt" "rear most belt")
Perform first at 55,000 miles (85,000 km) and thereafter every 60,000 miles (90,000 km).
Ribbed V-belt - Replace only the V-belt for the compressor drive (front belt) (only Audi Q7, A6, and A7 with the 3.0l V6 TFSI engine).
Perform at 75,000 miles (115,000 km) and thereafter every 80,000 miles (120,000 km).
Ribbed V-belt - Check condition and replace if necessary.
Check tension of belt drive with a manual tensioner and re‐tension if necessary (TT RS, 2.0l TFSI, V6 FSI, 3.0L V6 TFSI (rear most belt), 4.2L V8 FSI, and 5.2L V10 FSI engines only)
