Thoughts on buying a sub 80k mile 12 prestige a6?
I am considering buying a 12 prestige with under 80k.
Anything to watch out for?
I haven't seen the car yet, I am planning to check it out later this week.

Yes, if you live in a country that suffers from monsoons then rust and flooded vehicles can be an issue. Maybe posting your location would give readers some useful information to help in a response.

I am in the US on the East Coast, I am in an area that is not flood prone. Salt damage is not typical for most cars that have been taken care of in my area.

2012 was the first year for the C7. First year German models are usually more problematic than the rest of the family. 2012 models are more prone to both water pump issues and oil burning, as well as a few other issues that have been previously discussed on the forum.

Good job, try posting your location under your logon name so that readers don’t have to remember it for every post from about 50% of posters. As to your original question, always consider a CPO vehicle to CYA. Check what has been done and others will help with what is typical at 80k. Engine mounts, bushings, thermostat, water pump comes to mind.

No kidding? I have a 2016 3.0 P+ as well and it's just about to go out of warranty. What can I ask the dealer to look at when I bring it in for next oil change to double check that I don't need a new one too?

I think there's a TSB for it, don't know which one off the top of my head though. I would just ask them to take a look at the water pump next time you take it in and say you've heard it fails pretty often or have a few friends who have had it go bad...

I had wanted to buy this one here.
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1772/overview/
He had it posted on craigslist for the better part of the last month, then took the ad down and put it on cars.com last weekend.
But I guess the guy decided not to sell it to me.
I had emailed him last weekend, he said I could come Thursday, I was pretty excited and emailed back, I asking, has the car been in any accidents and can the radio do bluetooth music streaming.
Didn't get any response back about the questions or directions on where to meet him.
He doesn't have the carfax posted, sure I could pay $40 to get it, but I would only do that if I was going to actually buy it after seeing and driving it.
Seems like I might be better off just to keep on driving my '13 981 as my DD, totally impractical yes, but YOLO.
