What did you drive before the A6?
Saw this thread on the Q5 forum, and I thought it would be fun. What did you have before the A6 (C7)? Is there anything about it that you miss?
I traded in my 2004 Saab 9-3. I miss watching my friends' faces when they drove it, hit the accelerator, and panicked while waiting for the turbo to spool
I do have to say I miss being able to (barely) fit in "compact" parking spaces though

I came from a 2009 S5.. Some friends thought it was a downgrade when I got the A6 a months ago, but I don't think so...
S5 was definitely a head turner, but A6 is pretty close too. The technologies and cabin comfort level in the A6 is way better than the S5. A6 is fast enough for me. I do miss the sound of the V8 engine though.

I have had many cars before, mainly BMWs. I have a 2009 SLK and I recently acquired a new A6 in addition. the things that I missed on the SLK is very obvious : a convertible hard top, sporty handling and amazing small size ! but 1 thing that is so important but missing in the new A6 is communicative steering: the A6 has very light steering while the slk has much heavier but more responsive steering!

2007 BMW 530. While i wait for my A6 I have given thought to what I would miss and it will be the handling and communication that the driver gets through the steering. A6 has a very light and isolated steering response

Exact same as me. I had a 2010 s5 with AWE exhaust with downpipes, hr oe springs and 20 mm wheel spacers. Only thing the S5 couldn't accommodate was the baby seat. I like the A6. I loved the S5. As soon as she is old enough for a booster seat it will be back to the S5. That is as long as they keep the V8.

Came from a 2009 Dodge ram 1500 (which we still have) big horn edition. Before that it was a 2005 Subaru WRX, which was an absolute blast to drive. Had to leave the rex because of a child addition; back seat was way too small for anything more than a short drive. Initially was looking at A4/335D because I did want a small sports sedan but again found it impractical with kids. Glad it was, as the A6 is fantastic car. I won't go down again in size for some time as our kids are only 10, 8 & 6.
