X2 - I also removed the trunk badges. Much easier to detail. All I have is the rings.

The reality is no one except (some) other Audi owners knows or cares what any of the badges mean if they even notice them in the first place.

True and everyone on this forum is a sub-group of the mass Audi-owner population, but almost all of us do notice such subtleties, which don't register for the lay-person.

I had my dealer agree to remove the 2.0 badge from the rear of the car before i would lease from them. I did not want to drive around in a nice looking new car announcing to one and all that I cheaped out and got the weak little 4-banger. They did remove it - now the car looks better as an added bonus.

On the 2016 A6 it says "Supercharged" on both fenders, but the rear says 3.0T. I suppose I can remove that and place a "Supercharged" badge, or just leave it blank, or do nothing. It is my wife's car and she could care less.

TFSI stands for Turbo Fuel Stratified Injection.
According to Mark Dahncke, Audi's Product Communications Manager in an interview for Wards Auto back in 2012:
The "T" in TFSI designates forced induction, not necessarily turbocharging as in Audi's 4-cyl. 2.0L TFSI. "There was some brand value in the T," he says. "So instead of coming up with another nomenclature, the company decided to stick with that and apply it to both supercharging and turbocharging."
So, in Audi's Dictionary, the 'T' stands for forced induction and it applies to both supercharging and turbocharging. I guess 'K' for Kompressor or 'S' for Supercharger does not hold much brand value to Audi. He does make sense to me. 'V6S' or 'V6K' and 'SFSI' or 'KFSI' does not really have much appeal as 'V6T' and 'TFSI'. It would be interesting to find out everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Whatever Audi's reason for using 'T' for both forced induction technologies, the standing joke is that Audi has an over-supply of 'TFSI' and 'V6T' badges that need to be used. Thus, they came up with a lame excuse that 'T' will apply to any forced induction Audi engine to save costs and not have them go to waste.
