whatever they can get for the best price, they don't worry about manufacturer specs I betcha. If it's a name brand that will impress the customers, so much the better.

Oooh, you're pokin' a beehive with that comment! I agree with you and I use 5W30 synthetic...
... but there is a cadre of believers out there who say that you should (or must) use the best available oil. For me, it is a question of availability. Price Club carries 5W30 by the case.

I have a 2000 4.2 and have been using Mobile 1 5W-30 for 4 years with zero problems...
If you look in the owner's manual, you will see NO REFERENCES to 15w-50 weight oil. I would be using synthetic 0W-30/40 if I could find it where I live.
