Has anyone else experienced excessive oil consumption in their Allroad. I had the oil changed at 9,600 mi and at 12,000 yesterday the low oil light came on. It was pretty dry. This is not the first time this has happened since I got the car last march. It is the fourth time. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

You must have a problem here; my ar's oil consumption is almost nil (Mobil1 0w30).

Any pools of oil in driveway or garage floor? Leaking vs burning is the first thing to figure out.

i keep running low on oil. i'm about to send it into service along with a slew of other things and have it checked out.

It never happened again and I now suspect that the culprit was an inadvertent short fill at an oil change.

According to 03 Audi AR publication the 4.2 oil capacity is 8.9 u.s. quarts, yet the A6 4.2 takes only 8.

I had the dealer put in only 4 quarts even after I brought 7 quarts Amsoil 0W-30 with the car for the dealer to use. Someone helped themselves to the the other three quarts. Low oil light came on 100 miles later. Dealer still denies wrong doing on this one, but cannot explain where the missing 3 quarts went. Now I always check the oil level before I leave the dealer.
